Love the old Hollywood, red carpet glam look from Dior’s Spring 2012 Couture show. Subtle silver shadow, black liquid liner, false lashes, pink cheeks and glowing skin. Beautiful.

Good god, another shot of the makeup at Versace’s Spring 2012 Couture show. This is so flawless and stunning. Gold/bronze with deep browns and blacks. Ugh. Sort of reminds me of Emma Watson’s super modern makeup at the 2011 NYC Harry Potter premiere.

Karlie Kloss backstage at Versace right now looks absolutely flawless thanks to a smokey eye, nude lip and sleek high ponytail. I love doing this look when I go out at night. Beautiful makeup from the hands of Pat McGrath.

“Am I Being Stalked?” Moment Of The Day:

Stephane Rolland put out a haute couture collection with black smokey eyes, purple lips, black half gloves and all-black ensembles.

Am I being stalked?

Or is this just the best collection show to ever happen to me?

Fall 2011 RTW Fashion Week Hath Beguneth

My alarm clock this morning was my friend Kianna texting me that I need to “go look at the makeup for Z-Spoke” since Fashion Week has finally started. And even though I was totally let down that it was more of a preview shoot than runway (I like seeing the unaltered, raw backstage photos of the makeup rather than these posed versions), Kianna obviously guided me to Z-Spoke because it’s black, black and more black.

This is sort of my dream beauty look. As it is, I wear black on almost every occassion. The black hair falling into soft waves, the glossy short black nails, the black smokey eye hollowed out up to the brow bone, the blackberry/black lip with a subtle sheen…this look is bold, stunning and for the girl who doesn’t give a shit. It’s gothic in a fashionable way, it’s editorial with a touch of Halloween. I kid you not, I’d go out like this. I think this look is amazing.

In other news, I need a close up of the following shows IMMEDIATELY but maybe I’m asking for too much since Fashion Week started like 5 minutes ago.

Vena Cava, some weird ass opalescent blue eye, shadow smeared to high heaven?

Jenni Kayne, matte red/magenta lip, gimme close ups god dammit.

Some homeless inspired stuff at Nicholas K? I mean, I don’t really endorse the look, but the makeup looks matte and kohl-lined eyes, foundation on the lips, it’s inspired so I want some CLOSE UPS INTERNET. PLEASE.

I’ll stop complaining now. The internet shall hooketh me up with some dope shots soon enough. I’m just greedy. For now, I’ll plot my duping of Z-Spoke’s look for this weekend’s nightlife. I’m thinking MAC Cyber/Black Knight on the lips? Makes me miss my jet black hair, but not the problems that came along with it. Long live insane makeup looks at the people who have the cajones to wear them!

XoXo

ZAC POSEN’S Z SPOKE SHUT THAT SHIT DOWN WITH THESE MAKEUP LOOKS. FUCK “NUDE, GLOWING FACES” I WANT TO SEE MORE CRAZY SHIT LIKE THIS.

[ makeup by Maybelline nails by OPI ]

Also, this just in: apparently if you don’t have yellow clothing, accessories and makeup this spring, then you suck. I don’t know. It’s just what I’m seeing. Gotta get myself some yellow shadow…not gold…YELLOW. I may actually have a Make Up Forever one…

Breakfast at Bryant Park

It was way too early for me to be wearing a black puff mini skirt and five inch ankle boots. Nevertheless, I was headed backstage to the Nanette Lepore hair and makeup to do press for Allure. I’m getting the hang of interviewing the lead stylists and feel more confident in my surroundings. People’s eyes light up when they hear I’m from Allure (because frankly most of the people there are from forgettable media sites that seem to be validated only by having a personalized microphone to interview with). The makeup, done by MAC, was beautiful — a smoldering dark eye, defined brows, matte skin and a strong, deep lip (aka my favorite). However, the lip had a surprising yet refreshing twist — top lip was magenta, bottom lip burgundy. It was a detail you couldn’t see unless up close, but I really liked it and thought it was a young and fresh touch on a heavy, dated (yet still gorgeous) look.

Most of the models looked bored, flipping through newspapers, eating bananas, texting, while stylists worked furiously on their hair. I lingered in the halls after interviewing, looking for a place to sit and read (the party atmosphere of Friday night definitely doesn’t exist on a Wednesday morning) but was hardpressed to find a place where some squat security woman wouldn’t hassle me. I chilled outside the tent and stood a foot from Donald Trump and his wife (something with an M?) and he is surprisingly tall and actually looks better in person than he does on TV — creamy skin and of course the signature hair.

Well, I won’t ramble anymore. I simply loved the makeup for Nanette Lepore, very inspiring — reminded me why I love doing what I do. As I wrote on my Facebook today, the face is your canvas: create art everyday.

Let’s start with the makeup: again, note the half and half lip. It’s subtle yet a statement. If I were modeling in the show though I’d be DYING to smack my lips! The magenta and burgundy complement each other beautifully.

Makky, lead makeup artist for MAC at the show, demonstrating the gatsby-esque look for a film crew:

I turned around and caught this guy filming me. I’m not a model, I’m just a normal girl! Why do you have the camera on me! However, after saying “wow you must be getting some really great shit of me” and making some faces, I pulled out my Canon and snapped a few of him. Monkey see, monkey do. Then monkey post on Tumblr.

Nails for the show. OPI Black Cherry Chutney. A deep purple with a touch of burgundy, very beautiful and dramatic.

Stopped this photographer to take a pic of his shirt. NOW WE ALL KNOW YOU’RE A LESBIAN.

Frantic curling, unenthused model zoning out with iPod. Curls were then broken up by running hands through the hair for a long, flowing look.
